Micah Cain, ceramics professor for Shorter University, and Lisa Ingram will teach this 5 week wheel throwing class focusing on building throwing skills through creating vases and more to be raku fired. Raku firing a is a low-fire non-functional firing process where pots are removed from the kiln at peak temperature and rapidly cooled to achieve beautiful glaze effects. One must experience it to fully understand the excitement!

Raku Boxes- Glazing Night

May 9 & 23 7:00 pm- 8:30 p.m.

Join us to make a raku handbuilt box.The first week we will make it, the second week we will glaze AND fire it! Micah Cain and Lisa Ingram will teach this class that will include the special hands on firing method on the 23rd. Expect the glazing class to take a bit longer than a typical glazing class. The finished results are beautiful and you have to experience it to believe it!
